Brake sticking issue help

Okay so I work for Toyota but I did front and rear brakes on my cousins 07 liberty. We did new front pads and rotors. Also did new rear pads but only one new rotor(long story on that but they only had the money for one). Now I did the brakes but the left rear no longer seems to be releasing every time. Pads are free, piston will compress back, sliders move easy, and its not the parking brake. I'm completely stumped, I was messing with it after and it seemed to come out of it but they it started doing it again. They also have the ESP light on for a code that has to do with the steering angle sensor. Not sure if they have hill start or not. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Ok so the left Rear is not releasing, is this one with the new rotor, or old rotor?
Even tho you say it is not the parking brake, you do realize that in hat design of the parking brake can also stick, and generally when you do rear brakes, you also do the e-brake hardware & pads, inspect everything in there at the same time.
With both rear wheels off the ground give them a spin, and check to make sure the spinners are adjusted properly, and they are free.
Not replacing all the rotors is like walking around with one boot untied and thinking that is ok.

Even though the piston will push back, is the slider moving freely? A stuck slider will allow the pad on the piston to move,but hold the other pad tight against the rotor.

Yes it is the one with the old rotor. And yeah I know but they didn't have money for another rotor and I told them it should wait but they wanted me to put them on anyway. The rotor is not super old, and yes I'm sure its not the parking brake I can remove the caliper and spin it freely by hand. I can push the caliper piston in with my fingers and the pins are sliding fine. The issue randomly went away when I was looking at it but it came back later that day.

About the only other cause would be a part-time restriction in the flex hose.

But even when its seized I can take it off and push the caliper back. I've been looking online a bit at similar cases and it usually ends up being the caliper. From what I've seen corrosion or dirt can get in between the piston and bore and wedge the piston so that it can be pushed out and can be pushed in but the seal isn't strong enough to pull the piston back enough to release the brakes. Just for fun I took apart the rear sliders again buffed them slightly and applied a lot more grease to them (Not that I didn't do it before but I put more then I usually do on a brake job).
