Hey guys

Went out this morning to go to work and my jeep liberty won't start. When I attempt to start it all I get is a BUZZING SOUND, a very distinctive BUZZ. I noticed the battery has a slight crack in it near the terminal and there is corrosion all over the damn battery terminals and clamps. Voltage was 10.8v

I got a battery from autozone, and I'm going to clean the battery clamps on the vehicle. If that doesn't work, other suggestions?

EDIT: Should mention, it IS the original battery. Do batterys really go bad in 4 years? guess I'm used to optima redtops in all my honda's lasting 8+ years(current one is 10 yrs old). Replacing with an DURALAST GOLD b/c thats the only one autozone had $80, they wanted $219.99 and special order for the optima battery.

Apparently. I had the clicky buzz three times already, was able to charge it back with a booster and go about my business. Sometimes Jeep seems to draw current for no reason and drain the battery. Just get a $50 booster after you replace the battery.

Alright folks, well after $84.99 DURALAST GOLD and cutting out a ******** stuck negative ground bolt. SHE'S FIXED.

Would woulda thought?

So if you get a CLICK-BUZZ-BUZZ or just BUZZ, it IS YOUR BATTERY! ( even though mine "SEEMED FINE" and was about 11.0volts(not dead, but 11volts will start a car)

My honda's just don't turn over when the batteries are dead, JEEPS "BUZZ BUZZ", who woulda thought.

Learning more and more about this great vehicle everyday, and thanks to the folks who run this forum aswell as the posters who help idiots like myself out on a daily basis!

You and I have a different problem with that.

Yes, a battery only lasting 4 years is about the norm. Mine in my 04 just went bad a couple of months ago but it wasnt even in my Jeep so it didnt effect me. This January it would of been 5 years old.

11volts is to low and backed with badly corroded connections, it didnt start. :)
