Some do - the Cragar Soft 8s are a popular rim on KJs. It all depends on if they will clear the brake calipers and not many do.

BTW since I haven't done so yet welcome to JKJ!

I suppose I could always grind the calipers... hm... I want Helo Tease 15"s... I like a little bling... plus I found a black renegade I'd like to call the seller on... man, well, here's the rims just for fun :D

and here's the renegade :D

http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/car/585411178.html

I was figuring black say 5% tint on rear windows and ************ on the fronts to do a black on black theme... I don't even know which tires at 15" I have alot to choose from... probably between procomp xterrain 31x10.5 (30.5 actual) http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT63371.aspx , baja claws possibly 31x10.5 http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT67088.aspx , swamper radials (which I could pick size since they have 27,29 and 31 also available in 31x16 :) ) or the always get unstuck from any mudd anywhere bogger :) 31x10.5 15 or 16" I'd run a lift same time so I could fit the tires and don't mind hammering a pinch weld and removing inner plastic liners for since I want traction and a very aggressive look if I'm gonna have to drive the wifes ride ever... I kinda hate her jetta it's fast but not much faster than my truck and I just don't like cars all around :D if I decide to get a street friendly tire, it'd be the Truxus MT 31x10.5 but it also is only in 15" :( thus my decision to attempt to get a 15" rim to fit... basically I'm looking at knobby tires if you didn't notice and those are easy to get here so I'd take those 1st, plus I bought my truck rims from 4 wheel parts so I don't mind dealing with them :D

Those rims won't work,only steel 15" rims with about 4" of BS will fit the KJ,and they'll only have about 2-3mm of clearance.

I run 265/75R16 Trxus MT's(31.9" tall) on 16x7 steel rims with 4.5" of BS,you'll need a good lift,at least the Frankinlift,and some trimming but I have virtually zero rub(justa tiny bit when flexing on the rear flares,running the SkyJacker coil lift,pre-soft ride coils).

the more backspace the further into the pinchwelds it'll go.. looks like those rims I like are 5.49" :(

HE825 Tease - Black W/PHE8255712338
15x7, 5 on 4.5 / Bolt Pattern

* Back Spacing = 5.49 in.
* Offset = 38 mm.
* Hub Bore = 72.6
* Finish = Black

and in 16" they're 5.65" backspace :( still think I could shave the back of the caliper :p but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.. if I get a liberty I'll buy one and see if I can make it fit. it's only $100 after all LOL

HE825 Tease - Black W/PHE8256702342
16x7, 4 on 4.5 / Bolt Pattern

* Back Spacing = 5.65 in.
* Offset = 42 mm.
* Hub Bore = 72.6
* Finish = Black

oh, and I'd have to call and make sure it's a typo and the 16" is 5 on 4.5"...

so wait, with more backspace don't the wheels come out from the car? my wheels on my truck have more backspace and stick out like 2" past the fender where as the stock was completely in the wheel well? so wouldn't that mean with more backspace the rim (where the bead locks in front and back not spoke area) be further out and less chance of hitting the caliper? I'm lost on that one... unless I'm thinking backwards. I know it made my tires stick out alot more because of more backspace is what I thought? I know it was a negative offset -12 on the rims and stock was +30 or +32 or something.. so the wheels don't touch anything, but the tires stick out and rub on turns with the pinch weld area. that's the only reason I'm familiar with certain things, it's the 1st car I've modified by lifting and throwing rims and bigger tires on.. so I'm not an expert by any standards, just applying what little experience I have to try to make sense of things...

I really would like to do 15" rims since the tire options are endless as far as knobby tires go.

Might as well forget about any alloy 15" rims for a KJ,only steel 15" rims will fit like these----http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT267798.aspx------.

More BS will suck the wheels in,less BS will push them out.The offset and rim width also play a role on that also.The OEM BS on a KJ is 5.5",you do not want anymore BS then that,less(about 4"-5") when lifted.

Just remember that backspace is measured from the back edge of the rim, so the more BS the closer the spokes/mounting holes will be to the front.

well, I guess I can forget those rims altogether :( the 16" version is 5.65" B.S. so that's a little worse, especially since I plan on lifting..

so the 4" B.S. on the steel wheels keeps the rim farther out than the caliper or the rim somehow goes over it like a 16" rim would? that's what I was under the impression of. I'm so bummed I can't get nice cast 15"s... my vehicles spend alot of time on road. so I want them to look sick there... but I also do pretty heavy off roading as far as mudding and mild-medium rock crawling

NOOOO no forgetting :p if there's a way I can make them fit, I'm planning on finding it LOL the 16"s would fit, but only at stock height which happens to suck also.. gonna try to find other options I suppose :(

You'll need a extreme BS(about 3" or less,rub heaven there) and/or grind down the calipher(which is not save by anymeans) to make alloy 15's fit.Just stick with 16x7 or 16x8 alloys(with about 4"-5" of BS) and lift it and call it a day.There are just as many 16" tires out there as 15" tires.Or get steel 15's,better anyways and much stronger for playing offroad anyways.

I was about to ask this very question this morning.

I'm considering running 15" rims & tires on my Libby because I like the idea of more rubber between the rim & road (actually the trail).

One afternoon last summer I tried the 33x12.50x15 on my stock Libby to see if they would fit.

Maybe once I get a lift I should try this again.

My 15" rims are simple black steelies (Unique297's @ $79 each), 8.5" wide. I don't know if they have any backspacing.
