Take the bolt out and reverse it. There's a thru hole on the right side (if I remember correctly) and a threaded hole on the left. Normally the bolt is put into the thru hole and then tightened into the threaded postion.

If you thread it into the opposite side, and put some type of stop (a smaller open end wrench works) in the gap in the clevis, when you thread in the bolt it'll stop on the piece you put in and spread the clevis open.

Just be careful! Too much tension and you'll bend or break the clevis.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!

That will not work.

When doing a clevis lift it is better to take the very bottom bolt out(the one connecting it to the LCA) like stated(make sure KJ is supported by jack stands 1st) then you will not be fighting the weight of the vehicle and the coils tension.

I think I just used a 4' piece of 2x4 and wiggled into the LCA ,minding the CV boots not to touch them, and then just pry down on the wooden lever and it should pull the clevis down. You may have to give the clevis/shock connection a little love tap with a hammer...don't bash it, just a couple sharp blows should do it.

i had the same problem! i pry'd and pry'd and pry'd for hours! then it finally hit me! i grabbed the scissor jack that came in my kj and slid it between the uca and the bump stop. cranked it up and the clevis slid down like butter on a roll no problem. the jack never felt dangerous at all like it was gonna slip or anything it was snug up in there. once i got it to the place i wanted it. i tightened the bolt back up and released the jack pressure and reassemble the wheels lol
