Guys on the way home tonight from work my Jeep started bucking really bad like it was missing, all of a sudden the thing died but fired again right away, so I drove another 10mins then the truck died again and would not fire, so I waited a few mins then the truck fired drove 1/2KMS pulled into my driveway, turned the truck off and tried to restart it, would not fire, any ideas?, I was thinking fuel pump?

Could be...I had that problem in a Ford Bronco. Ran fine until it warmed up...when the pump warmed up it'd slow down and starve from fuel.

Problem was, pressure tests at idle were OK - it was only when the windings warmed up.

For you, I'd tend to say fuel pump or ignition.

Check the plugs for fouling or indications that it's been running hot or lean. It's easy to do, and might help you zero in on the problem.

Fuel pumps usually just die. Did it give a check engine light at all? Sounds like it wasnt firing correctly. Crank sensor? TPS sensor? Cam sensor? Bad spark plug? bad coil?

How many miles are on the Jeep? How many miles are on the spark plugs?

If the check engine light is on then pull the codes.

This almost sounds like a crank position sensor issue. See it a lot on older Jeeps. They'll run great till it gets warmed up, then automatically shut down. If your CPS goes out in that fashion, your lucky. Most of the time, they just die leaving you stranded (and they usually just go while you're on the highway or something).

If you can, verify if there any codes being thrown by the computer.

Okay guys thanks for all the input, I let the truck sit for an hour then went back outside and started it, I noticed a horrible smell comeing out of the tailpipe, also the truck will stay idiling until I rev it up and let the rpm drop it will just die but will start again, I had a check engine light on but I new why it was on so I reset it but a new code has not come on yet, a friend of mine mentioned this could be a O2 sensor of a plugged cat? I forgot to mention the truck has 124,000KMS on it new plugs 3 months ago from the dealership.

PCM = Powertrain Control Module....it's the engine's computer. I don't really know of a good way to check that. I can't really help you too much right now (at work), but I could give some pointers when I get home later on. I'll PM you later. If I forget, please feel free to PM me a reminder ;)

Southeast of disorder...
The PCM is located on the inside of the driver's side wheel well, between the battery and the brake master cylinder. Looks kind of like a stereo amp with several connectors on top.

Why would the PCM still be under warranty but not the cam or crank sensors? They're all part of the engine, and therefore, drivetrain, right?
