I am removing my passenger side head and have removed all the fasteners I can see but there must be something I'm missing, it moves around a bit however in the front intake side where the chain is it seems to be hanging up. I did remove the two fasteners inside the timing chain area but is there more I'm missing.....
The two outside smaller bolts on the side of the timing chain area are out but it seems to be sticking there.......

What's the key ???

Have you removed the cam chain? If not that is what is holding you up.

Hey,
I've removed the head bolts, exhaust, cam gear and chain. There are 2 bolts in front just to the inside of the timing chain area which I have removed, along with the two bolts in-side the timing chain housing.. all 10mm heads...
I can get the head to move a bit but it seems to be sticking in the front right corner, (passenger side head) Looking at this cyl head in the timing gear area I have removed all the smaller bolts, it seems to be hanging up there, is there more to remove or do I just have to work it a bit more. I have the chain pinned to the tensioner with a block of wood so it wont drop down in the timing cover....
Has someone removed a head here ? Its an 02 3.7

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
There are 12 bolts total that attach the head to the block and you need to remove all the timing chain tensioners to remove the head. There is a head bolt one each side of inner/front "L" part of the head also.
