On the dashboard (driver’s side), there’s the large panel that surrounds the instrument panel, and there’s another that goes along the bottom under the steering column. In between the two is a thin (1.5”-2”) horizontal strip of trim that runs from each side of the steering column, one to the door, the other to the radio console.

I am curious – is this a separate piece of trim? How is it removed? I am thinking it’s a perfect place to mount some electrical switches for some add-ons (and I am thinking Jeep made it that way for a reason). I want to install an amp in the very near future, and I like to throw a switch on the remote wire so I can kill the bass for the wife or for times when I want stock bass.

Thanks guys! So, those thin pieces are completely seperate from the one surrounding the cluster and the one under the column?

Is the piece that's folded down in this pic the one you are talking about?

Craig - not that one, I am talking about the one where you have those two switches actually. I just want to make sure I can pry that one off and it's not connected to the lower one or the one around the IP.

If you haven't pulled it off by now, you need some mental help!!! :p lol3.gif.

As a matter of fact, most parts of the Liberty's Instrument Panel just pull right off...

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, I am at work, so I haven't pulled it off yet. Besides, I need some wire. And a switch. And some carpet to cover the enclosure (going to recover, looked worn). And a line level converter ;-)

I think I'll be working on this on Saturday. Look forward to having the sub again, the amp in the Prix died like a year ago.
