Hi Everyone-

To preface this, I just cleaned all of the wheels about a month and a half or so ago and the front wheels look almost as clean as they did back then. On a recent road trip for work, I drove the Libby about 400 miles each week for two weeks. I noticed that towards the end of the second week, my rear wheels had become extremely dirty with what looks like a major amount of brake dust/grease. Anyone else ever see that? The only reason it seems odd to me is because it's affecting both rear wheels, but not either of the front wheels. I'm also noticing that the rear brake disks don't clear all of the rust spots off even after heavy braking (tried it myself), while the front brake disks look relatively clean except around the border which is normal. Having read about a few rear brake issues from others and now coming up on 16K (and of course, living in suburban NY traffic, not being exactly kind to my brakes), I'm wondering if I have the first signs of a problem. Can anybody lend some insight or is that just the way KJ rear brakes are?

I always notice the front wheels on most vehicles covered with brake dust. If the rears are getting dirtier, could it be because the fronts are not working properly so the load is put on the rear, which is not much used to this kind of work shedding extra dust? Can you get your brakes checked for free?
