Well, since it's been crappy weather lately, I decided to go pay my old salesman a visit down at the dealer, in hopes of messing around with the CRD some, now that they have a couple on the lot. There was a blue limited (like grogie's blue) but didn't have leather or a sunroof, and a white sport, no s-roof but both did have fogs. First thing I did was crank it up. I was extremely impressed at how quiet it was for a diesel. Yeah it's got a little racket to it, but come on, it's a diesel. Inside the cabin there is hardly any engine noise. Step on the gas and there is INSTANT throttle response. Then I took her out for a spin. Holy shit that thing has some power!!!!! I barely even hit the gas and I was off like a bullet...LOL.

Bottom line, the CRD is a wonderful KJ. To the ones on this board who are lucky enough to have one, man I envy you...LOL. I've thought long and hard about trading it in. I liked all the options on that 05 except the no sunroof, but I could adjust to that. I also mentioned to my salesman how I liked the light bar on the renegades, as well as the fog lights how they are detached from the grill, like on TJ's and he said, "we could set you up with those options on this one".

Man I want that CRD really bad. Just the torque alone is amazing! But, at the current time, between what I owe on my KJ now, how much they'd probably give me for it (didn't ask, just assuming), and what I might be able to talk them down to on price (the blue one i was looking at was listed for 28K and some change, I would end up losing money. So unfortuneatly i'll have to wait a while.

Was this from a dead stop or moving??

Mine from dead stop, give it 3/4 to full thottle and there is 1-2 sec lag.
1/2 or less very responsive, also between 2000 and 3000 looks like is the power band for this engine.

I've heard that there is at least ONE KJ out there, with a Dodge 5.2L (318) V8 out there. It was designed to fit the 4.7L from the start. However, the excess engine will intrude into the passenger compartment during a crash
