Factory roof bars

Okay apparently the search is not my friend as I can not seek to find anything on there, My Liberty does not have Roof racks but I just got a used set off of an 03, my question is do I have to remover the black rubber strip on my roof or do I need to cut it where the roof bars bolt on? Any one installed one of these? I haven't looked at it to close as I am still at work, but plan on installing them along with my renegade light bar tonight

also under the black rubber are there already threaded holes to bolt the rack to ??

Yes you will have to cut the plastic to fit the rails.Since I have not ever looked on a KJ that did not have rails on it I'm not sure if the nutzerts are there already,I would have to say the holes and nutzerts are not there so you will need to drill the holes and install the nutzerts.

Just one ?,Why install the weak OEM rails?
You can get some HD rails,all steal,from Rock Lizard Fab(click the link in my sig).Yes a little more money but they won't break on you like the plactic ends on the OEM rails will,seen them break.

the reason for using the stock racks is b/c they were free and i am just installing them for looks.

I pulled the rubber back and it seems the holes are there but no nutzerts. where can i buy these nutzerts?? I have one extra one from my renny light bar install but I don't know where I can buy these things
