Some time back I posted that my 02 Liberty had dropped a valve seat, well I finely got the time to repair it. I got 2 rebuilt heads, with valves, cam, rockers etc pre-installed via EBAY for $300 each, the gasket set cost $100 dollars.
The job went smooth, the biggest things for me were getting the cyl head torqued correctly and getting the timing chains in line. I didn't have any of the Jeep special tools, however you can get by without them. The engine runs perfect and I'm glad to have the Jeep back on the road.. :D

I didn't do the work all at the same time, and didn't have air tools in the garage I did the job. I would think 6 to 8 hours sounds right. Remember the first time is always longer than the second etc. There wasn't anything difficult, just a lot of little things had to be removed and installed.. Now the engine runs perfect, quiet and smooth.. 100 dollars worth of hand tools and some know-how is all ya need.
I have some experience, this is my other car a Porsche 914 with a 450 hp small block Chevy and a racing transmission. I built this in my one car garage at home..

Hey,
they are Ferrari 575 Marabello mufflers,(EBAY $200 bucks) they have two outlets one is quiet and the other is real thunder. The thunder ones are controlled electrically, I just flip a switch on my shifter to turn them on or off. Besides my neighbors would gang up on me if I ran straight pipes LOL:eek:
