Ok. Here are the first pics of our Jeep after a few cosmetic mods. So far I have done the following...

Exterior
  • Clear Corners
Silverstar Bbulbs (Headlights, Fogs and Markers)
    Remove exterior ant
Dual Trail Rated badges (Wish I could find 'Concrete Tested' badges. ;)
    Tinted front windows
    Aftermarket tail lights
Drawtite Hitch (still only have 4 out of the 6 bolts installed #-o)
RED SOX hitch cover (w/ locking pin so those damn Yanks don't try and steal it! [-X)
Interior
  • RB1 Navigation System (with latest map software and it still doesn't know about all the new roads in Boston!](*,))
    Mopar iPod adapter (whistle)
Interior radio ant in rear side window
Weathertech floor liners (front and rears)
    Mopar/Jeep rear cargo liner

(I don't know if the pics will show up right for everyone, but if you right click and go to view picture, then you should be able to see something. I will try and fix it later. :( )

no pics but works at its source. Looking good, love the tint! How did you get the tint done and how much did it cost?

I can't say I am a big fan of clear taillights but they don't look that bad.

Nice ride. :)

Oh, I guess I am not the only one with dust accumulating in between the ducts:

I just hate that! Car wash palaces dont vacuum properly and always leave them, and if I vacuum if have to keep pushing it to the side and suck the suckers.

This may be a better place to view the pics...

I vacuum the Jeep myself, but it's done in a garage w/ poor lighting :( I'll vac for an hour and then drive out in the sun and see dog hair every where!!!

I'm not a fan of the clear lights either. I wanted to get a pair of 2005+ that have the clear instead of the orange, but they are expensive. I saw these on ebay and thought I'd give them a try. I really don't want the Jeep to look too 'pimp' if you know what I mean.

And I'm longing for the 2002-2004 lamps that have the orange instead of the clear. I wish you were closer, I'd trade with you, no questions asked and no $$$ involved. I can't stand these "tinted" lights. Ugly to me.

But that's a nice looking Jeep!

I had the tint done at a shop here in the Boston area. (Tint King in Billerica, MA www.tint-king.com) They were really good guys and I was able to just drive up there and it took about 30 min for them to put it on. It is 35% on the fronts and the rears are stock at 15%. The 35% is still a bit illegal in MA because they said it would read closer to 25%, but they were willing to do what ever I wanted (as long as I paid cash). They charged me $100.

That's some good tint. And very reasonably priced at $100. Good job.
Although jeepjeepster got his for $55 and he got windshield bar.

For some strange reason NY laws only allow %70
](*,) but I am sure rears are at well below %40 out of factory..

Hyedipin, if you look I changed the price. I forgot to add the price of the windshield in there since I had it done at a later date. It was $25 for each side window, and $15 for the windshield. O:)

I really do not like those tail likes either. I would like to have a set of the 05's though. Your paint needs some good TLC too, I see tons of swirls. #80 meguiars on a cutting pad would fix that. 8-[

I've always washed my cars by hand, but I've never been a big waxer... our last three cars were 3 year leases, so they never really needed it. This is our fist black car and there are a ton of little scratches that I'm sure can be buffed out, but I don't even know where to begin. :( I'm guessing I can find '#80 Meguiars' but I'm not sure what a cutting pad is.

Thanks for the opinions good/bad everyone. It's always good to get feedback on the things you do.

Tell me about it..Same here.

You should see my black one, it is a battelfield, I cannot believe how much scratch is on the paint, I am sure all of it came from the carwash when they use those dirty rags and don't care how they clean. Up and down and sideways plus swirls.

I am hoping they can go away if I take my it to the details center, they do polish, wax, coat, inside, outside, details for about $175. I have to ask them if the scratches can go away.. If I do myself, I don't know if they will go away.

I know you all probably will not want to read, but this is a great place to find out how to remove scratches. http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=14

I read for at least 2 days before I had everything I needed.

Ive yet to see #80 in a store, some people can find it but I cannot.

You can order everything off that website. A cutting pad is a certain type of pad that goes on a PC DA buffer.

Here is a list of the products meguiars offers:

http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1293

Click on #80 and it will take you to it. #83 is alittle more aggresive and you may need that.
