Hi all,

I recently picked up an '05 limited. Clean, low miles, drove great until it spontainiously combusted. The obvious source of the fire was the battery, and it looks like the short was either the battery itself or the starter.

The truck needs all new under hood wiring, battery cables, brake fluid return line (between the block and the master) Possibly an ECU, power steering fluid reservoir and hose, the little vaccum canister by the core support and lines, and also the fuel line to the injector rail.

I priced the parts through dealerships and vendor direct, and it just ain't in the budget. Does anybody know of a local DFW area source, or a yard that does mail order?

Thanks a lot in advance. I only got to put 200 or so miles on this thing before the meltdown. Really looking to getting it back on the road.

Did it come with a Costco battery or did you buy it. And did they install it?

Thanks, will do.

It did come with the Costco battery. I also know that it had just been installed by the owner before I picked it up. Are these batteries prone to this sort of dramatic failure?

I don't know if there prone to do it but thats the second one I know of having a catastrophic failure. Oh and the other one I know about Costco covered the repairs but required the battery back.

I had to put the Jeep on the backburner, but I'm back trying to tackle it. Wow, 6 months it's been...

I picked up a wiring harness off an '04 Liberty from eBay a couple weeks ago, but it wasn't right. It only had 3 ECM plugs, whereas mine has 4. I found another from an '07 3.6L 2wd AT and the price is right, but I don't have physical access to the donor vehicle. It's ECM looks identical to mine in the pictures. Can anyone help me determine if this harness would be compatible, or explain the model year differences and what harnesses WOULD be a direct swap?

Thanks a bunch for the help.
