My wife took our 06 Liberty down for its first oil change on Saturday and they did not charge her anything for it. The service guy told her that he noticed we had some sort of care package or something that included free oil changes. Has anyone ever heard of this or no how long it lasts? I know we did not pay for anything extra. To make sure I went over our service contract and invoice and found no extra charges. Thanks.

Are you SURE you didn't pay for the Essential Care Package? (8 oil changes) They MAY have snuck it in there somewhere in the purchase price...

I will review my invoice again. But I am sure that the only thing I was charged for was the vehicle, the upgrade for the moonroof and tax. I thought I remembered my my sales guy tell that I would have free car washes for as long as I own the vehicle and free oil changes for the first year, but I wasn't sure, guess I was right. I will check again to make sure they didn't sneak it in, but I do remebering reviewing the invoice thoroughly before signing anything. Do you happen to know if there is a dealer code for the "Essential Care Packager" and what it is. I tried searching online and I couldn't find anything on it.

I think I remember something about having "free service for 60,000 miles" but I'm not too sure.

I got my first free oil change at the service center, but waited about 3 hours for that.

So now I just pay the $30 to have Jiffy Lube change it in 10 min.

Maybe if I got a free loaner I would go to the service center, but its waste of my life going there.... [-(

If you purchased in late November through December you might have the "Miles of Freedom" purchase incentive that included 2 years/24,000 miles of free maintenance, 2 extra years of warrantee and a $2,367 debit card.

bingo, exactly what came to my mind. I know when I purchased my 03, the deal running at the time was 14 free oil changes. While i'm all for free oil changes, especially at the dealer, thats 20 minutes to drive there, 3 hours to wait, and 20 minutes to drive back....almost 4 hours right there, and the only time i can get down there is on a saturday morning. I'll be changing it myself now.

some dealerships do this for customer relations & return purchases. I don't think it's Jeep thing!

If I had purchased from the local dealer he would have given me two years service at the cost of the disposables and free labor and he would have let me know the reason why as part of the PR. I got it including the labor because I purchased during the "Miles of Freedom" incentive.

I just received my free oil change coupons in the mail lastnight, it seems it was a dealer promo... Thanks for all the responses.
