Ok so I looked around a bit and didn't see a conclusive answer. At highway speeds my front end seems loose. Could this be sway bar bushings? It only does this when I am alone in the car and not carrying anything. With 5 people it rides like a caddy and nice and straight. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Could be rack bushings. Mine kicked the bucket and left me with steering and a ride that felt like a bowl of minestrone...

X2

Or check tie rod ends. Loose ball joints on those will let the front wheels wander.

By the way, when was the last time you got your Jeep aligned?

Not sure when it was last aligned. Bought it in December and didn't get any service records (I will be slowly doing everything). I plan on doing a clevis lift and I will right after that.

Check all front end parts and alignment
Alignment can cause it to wonder or dance around with you going down the road
Tires worn off one way or the other will cause it to wonder
Rear lower control arms will also

Thanks all.

I check the tires and rotate every 6k so those are fine.
Tomorrow or Tuesday I will be doing a full front end inspection. I have to go under there to fix a rattling heat shield anyways.
And I see a alignment in my near future.
