My first post, I have a 2003 Limited with premium sound.... Taking the plunge on new audio, just want it crisp and loud enough to hear with the windows down... Hereare my choices and then I have a question or two....

HU.....http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22001_JVC+Arsenal+KD-A815.html

Sirius....http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12104_JVC+KSS-RA100+++SIRIUS+SC-C1.html

SW controller.... http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17946_PAC+SWI-JACKv1+-New+Version+of+SWI-JACK-.html

Speakers....http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158GTX1641/Sony-XS-GTX1641.html?tp=95&tab=review

Here's my questions.. I've read that this unit...http://www.autotrucktoys.com/libert...woofer-80-Watt-Amplifier-02-07-P2244C507.aspx doesn't fit an '03, but the fit guide on the page does have it listed. Regardless, anyone have any experience trying to get it to work with an aftermarket headunit?????

Secondly, is it your guy's experience that doing away with the in door amps will still provide decent sound versus wiring them up to the new speakers? I guess it's getting a little confusing to me to start patching things together (meaning the door amps) if not "necessary"....

A long post, sorry, just wanted to get it all out at once...

Thanks to all that reply!

Addendum: Actually found this: http://www.amazon.com/Boss-BASS600-Low-Profile-Amplified-Subwoofer/dp/B000OSZA44 Supposedly the Mopar amp above can't integrate with an aftermarket headunit, I guess I answered my own question. Anyone have any experience with these integrated units? I don't want to clutter up my cargo area with a subwoofer...?

I'm going to guess the Mopar subwoofer is set up to be wired directly to the stock radio and probably doesn't have the proper wiring harness to integrate with an aftermarket HU. Therefore, a lot of wire splicing is most likely going to be involved.

From what I've read, some have tried tapping into the wiring harness of the subwoofer because it didn't work when trying to use the RCA out's on the back of the HU but still have found that either the sub doesn't get power or one of the door speakers goes out, for whatever reason. If you're electronically/sound system inclined and don't mind trying to splice, you might as well try.

If you're worried about cargo space, you could still go with a 6.5 inch sub. They make aftermarket ones which I'd imagine would fit under the seat, depending on if you have power seats or not.

Also, for better sound results, a lot of members suggest going with a 2-way rear door speaker and a component set up in the front but it depends on your preferences and budget!
