Ok so 02 Liberty Renegade. When I shift to 4hi There is a Grinding Noise Coming from the front. Crawled under there today and there is quiet a bit of oil that appears to have leaked out of the front gear box (if that is what its called) also the drive shaft to the front wheels has some play in it. What next????

Front gearbox, as in front differential? You may have stripped the gears. Try replacing the front diff oil and see if you have alot of metal shards, or open the fill hole and dig around in there with a magnet and see what you pull out. It could also be front driveshaft CV, or your front axle CV's.

A little bit of play in the front driveshaft is normal. Nothing to worry about there.

It sounds like your transfer case is the issue. The exact issue could be one of several, however.
