Has anybody here dyed their headliner black?

If so what product and how much did you use?
Did you dye the grab handles, dome lights, and "A" pillar trim black as well?
Do you notice a gain in temperature inside the cabin?

Black suede would be the ultimate but I'm sure it is rather costly.

not sure if this would work as an alternative but I noticed walmart had big rolls of some black, tan, whiteish microsuede "couch" material looking stuff and it really didn't seem to be that pricey - probably no more than a pan of dye to be honest

I've dyed interiors back to their orig. color through a few means but they were older vehicles and while it lasted a few years , old plastic always "chalks" eventually anyway - and of course when it does, it's going to get on you :(

I don't think THAT would be an issue with our Jeeps hardware though

be interesting to see what you do, i've considered changing out pillars for black ones and what not but I just never got a Round Tuit.

I have dyed plastic Rc pars that were molded in grey plastic, and dyed them black using Ritz clothing liquid dye. I just used 2 cups water two 2 cups vinager, and then added the dye. and brought to a boil, then placed the parts into the solution for about a 30 min or so, you may be able to do that with a few of the plastic parts that can be de-tached, like the handles, as for the headliner, not to sure...
