Head interchange

Can anyone tell me if the heads will interchange on a 2002 to a 2009 3.7 L I heard you could we just had to change cam gears 10 years old when we come back from

The combustion chamber and cam profile change from 04 to 05.

I have mismatched heads on our 05 now. Didn't realize it until I was ready to bolt things up. It does run fine though.
