So i have a 2002 liberty i purchased back in the summer. It is great just having one small issue. It leaks coolant and i cant find where. I have replaced the water pump and still leaks. the leak is coming from about dead center of the engine bay and only leaks when parked on an incline. when i am parked on a flat area, there ground underneath is dry. i have checked hoses and everything else i know to find the leak and nothing. another note, the heat also smells like coolant when you turn it on. Please help!!!!!

Maybe the heater core? I'd have to look at mine to see where the heat hoses run through the firewall. Is the carpet wet anywhere? Is the windshield fogging in the defrost setting? Keep looking.

I know you said you checked the hoses, but in case you were just talking about the rad hoses, I had the hose going to the overflow degrade and start leaking at the radiator side, just some hopeful thinking for you. i just switch with the other overflow hose free fix and simple 1 min job.

Yeah I would second that. When changing the spark plugs, or foolin around the overflow I notice a leak under the Jeep of coolant. Prolly because I moved the reservoir around.(kinda as if you were on an incline) I've even popped those lines off and quickly put my thumb on the hose, and still got the little leak.
I'd say look at that area again to make sure that when the tank is tilted, incline or if you move it around physically, to see if you can find a leak.

soory for taking so long to reply, yes the floor is wet on the passenger side. just noticed it the other day when the wife was riding with me. guess that is definite the heater core. never had to replace a heater core before, any tips?
