Whats up? I am a new jeep owner from Maryland. I decided to buy a Jeep because i like the style and basically the Liberty was at a good price. I purchased a 2004 Jeep Liberty about a week ago and love it. It is stock for now, but i would like to "mod" it later on.

I come from a strong honda "tuning" backround and i basically am too big for it now :) 6'4'' 240... But for right now it is stock. I am not sure of the trim model i have, but that doesnt matter it suits me. My plans so far are going to try and find the Jeep rims that are gunmetal in color,

Also i like the all red look of the newer tailights, window tint and new liberty badges. Basically being a newer stock car. I dont really do much "off" roading, but i may think about starting. Not with this but buying a "side" jeep also. I guess thats it, ill be sticking around for the near future ;)

Cool.. You sure it is 2004? I thought they stopped tinting windshield after 2003 (Aeh) and great choice getting painted bumpers. :)

You sunroof is ajar! I forgot mine open twice, only to find it is raining!!

congrats on the purchase, I also came from a honda background. Basically i was sick of having a coupe so i got my liberty.

Your liberty is the first one that I have seen where the back windows were not tinted. Interesting.

liar dealer..

when I was getting mine that's what he said to me, after 03 they were not tinting windshields.. and only way to get an OEM faded tint is to replace windshield with an old model, or find salvage.. ](*,)

sorry... i just caught it also. It is a 2003. And i should have a tinted rear? It is darker but not much.

Where would be the best place to find those wheels? I am looking for them with some decent tires. Maybe even a trade... but my wheels common enough nobody would want them. Also i have a quick question. What type of liberty do i have? I have a cd player and sunroof... sport i presume. And what about... yay or nay for the spare tire cover?

i was just saying that i have never seen a liberty without tinted back windows. I would assume that you have a limited model since you have the sunroof, cd player, and painted bumpers. But i could be wrong

It does look like a 2wd....and I thought Limiteds came standard with 4x4?

Regardless it's a very nice looking KJ.. Not the first i've seen with out the factory tint though....i've seen a few others running around town like that.

Ehh, i like it. I want to order the correct labeling for the side of my Jeep. I have an older 4x4 truck which i am looking to get rid of for a late 90's 4x4 wrangler. But i like the style of the KJ. And suits my body type well. Plus the price was definatly right :) . I just dont like yellow in the taillights, will the 06 lights fit in with no problem?

No, it is not a limited. It is sport with options.

I have seen a few sports out there without flipper & rearglass tint, so it is normal. Unless it was limited and was involved in an accident where all windows needed to be changed and they went ahead and replaced them with these, which is a remote possibility.

Again, I am wondering how miah got his windshield OEM tinted.. If I want to get OEM winshield, it would probably cost a lot!

Enjoy your jeep, and pls tell us how much you paid at what mileage?

If you are talking about youknowwhoibee, that is a Limited. The painted fender flares and the rims give it away. I dont think there is a way to get painted flares on a Sport. By the way, good choice. Some deep tint will definitely help it. Personally, I love my 4x4, but your getting a Wrangler, so it will be a good around town/road trip vehicle. I'm sure you'll love it.

*EDIT: Plus you can see the chrome interior trim, which Sports dont have.

i paid... 11.4k with ~40,000 miles. Also got a 50,000 mile complete warranty... down to the tires :) all moving parts covered including the ****** ( that i heard goes up between 75k - 80k). That may be false but i tried to cover every step.

*edit- my first tank of gas i hit 23.6 mpg :) woohoo! I drive very light, rarely ever redline it. What octane you recommend? I think base 87 is ok but not sure if 89/91/93 would be better.

Wow. 23.6 is awesome. Right now, my route only gets me about 16.7. I have a lot of stops and the fastest I go is 55 mph. As far as gas, I would run 87. That is what the engine was designed for and using the higher octane (which I believe results in a higher compression) can actually reduce your efficiency.
