I know that someone has posted before but Im new here and was wanting to know if anyone has converted over to HID?

I saw a Liberty last night with the headlights & fogs that were blue! Is that HID or just blue bulbs? Looked good by the way!:):D

They could have been HIDs or they could have just been blue bulbs. Either way blue headlights annoy me. I like a good clean pure white light.

FWIW, those blue bulbs usually DECREASE your visibility. If you want blue, go to the Fast 'n Furious section at Autozone (or hit ebay). ;) The bulbs are decently cheap.

If you want HID's, you can retrofit them but they will not be DOT approved and therefore illegal. People still do it though. Also, this is a very pricey upgrade.

If you want to upgrade your visibility and want nice clear light, get some Silverstar bulbs. This is what I would recommend. They aren't dirt cheap, but you could upgrade all 4 bulbs for $75-$100. Phillips also has a similar line that are cheaper than the Silverstars - Marlon had/has them, maybe he can chime in with the name.

I had silverstars for about 5 years in my Prix, and when I got the KJ I switched them over to the KJ. After about 3 months in the KJ, one burned out and I just threw the stockers back in. Some people have problems with them burning out quickly. I had them for 5+ years before I had a problem. I did seem to have problems with the H3 silverstar bulbs that I was running my my 4" fogs on the Prix - they'd last 2 months tops.

I fully intend on returning to the silverstars (or the phillips equivalent) and also putting them in my fogs. I loved them.

I thought the Philips Equivalent was a better (Whiter, Brighter), longer lasting bulb. They're also cheaper. They're called Philips CrystalVision Ultra.

The "blue" bulbs DO decrease your visibility. I drove a car at work with some blue HIDs and I just sat there... looking... what the heck's the purpose, seriously, besides them being blue. Annoying is what they are.

Might you know what the bulb #s are for the 06 Renegade fogs! I think I might try the Phillips bulbs, Ive heard that the Silverstars are not that great.

I bought a pair of Nokya Arctic White Pro Halogen bulbs for my headlights, they look great. The light they produce is 7000K, a blueish white color.

Of course compared to the Nokya's my fog & driving lamps with stock bulbs looked yellowish. So I had to buy Nokya bulbs for them too.
I guess I'm real annoying too :D
