I have OME HD coils and Rancho 17505 struts..

Just got off the phone with ALL J's and told them I want to make it a complete frankenlift.. she said its not possible and told me the closest thing I could get to it.

Here's what she said I need:

Top Plates
shim or stem cushion (couldn't hear her)
bolts..
some other stuff.......................................$69.40

welding bolts onto top plate $10/plate..........$20

some 901k or something kit..
(the coil spacer) 1.5 inch...........................$125.00

shipping..................................................$22.66
------------------------------------------------------
total......................................................$237.09

Could I use Rusty's spacers that are $20 a pair instead of the $125 kit she was telling me?

She said it wouldn't feel right and just wouldn't be right.. ??
And said It wouldn't be a true frankenlift even if I bought the parts she was telling me. Idk why because I bought the Rancho struts and OME HD coils.. That plus the other components of a Frankenlift sounds like a Frankenlift to me. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and advise me if I could just use the Rusty's spacers for $105 cheaper?

sorry so long
Thanks in advance,
Chase

Seems the only difference between a Franky and what I run is the Daystar upper strut plate and the infamous poly spacer exclusive to the Franky. You could use the Rusty's top plates I think....some run them.

You could always order the 3/4" poly spacer from Rusty's and put that under the coils with the Daystar upper strut plate....

And I know. I'm running what you are right now.. I think.. OME HD and Rancho. but that spacer and daystar top plate add 1.5" in theory. Along my pinch weld, rear says 19", front says 17" give or take some tenths.. I'm hoping with the spacer and top plate it will be level.
but I don't want to spend $125 if I could just spend $20 for the same thing. Please anyone with any knowledge of the franky components and that 911k something or other spacer kit they are trying to sell me. Feel free to chime in.

If I had a place to work on mine and tear it apart, I would order that spacer and give it a try. Seeing that I don't have my tools and a place, it cost me $180 to get a shop here to tear it apart and put the spacer in.....then if it was not good for some reason, another $180 to take them out....not gonna happen.

I have the Daystar upper strut plates already, just need the spacer. :(

yeah, a buddy of mine's dad owns a hurricane shutter business and has a huge shop. with the IFS its all pretty simple. Just takes the right tools. Although spring compressors are a PIA.

Question on similarities of franky and rusty's 3/4" spacer is still on the table everyone.

First is there a reason you want all the parts to make it a Frankenlift? and why? Not to be a jerk but you can get the same height other ways. I only have OME HD coils and Rancho struts, plus a knock off RRO top plate that is 3/8 of an inch thick so double that, some conduit nuts and there you go , sitting at 22 1/2 inches plus from the middle of the wheel to the bottom of the flare. I have pictures of mine sitting nose to nose with a Franky and we are the same , maybe mines a touch higher:D Franky on the left, mine on the right

So all I could do is buy some RRO top plates and throw some conduit nuts clevis? but RRO top plates technically give you what 3/4" lift and i already have the clevis thing dropped down.. no conduit nuts but its just like a regular clevis lift and I'm only reading 21" on the fender. Definitely not trying to insult your knowledge on this. I know your the guru but yeah. And the 3/4" coil spacer will in turn give me 1.5" of lift? So instead of spending $237.09 I could spend way less? and not even have to tear apart my struts? AND achieve more lift?? sounds good to me! Any way I could get my hands on a pair of those top plates you have?? and how many clevis nuts? I just wanna be sure that after the third time taking my suspension apart it sits where I want it to. And that happens to be right where yours does. :D

kjweston,

You can go another route. If you can find some clevises off a KK, they are 1/2" longer. This will translate into 1" at the wheel, with no spacers anywhere. You should be able to install it without removing the strut from the vehicle.

In another post of mine, somone said the KK clevis is about $65 each new, but if you found them at a wrecking yard, who knows?

Check and make sure another member had some for sale that were suppose to be from a KK and they were only maybe 1/8 inch difference from mine, wither that or I kept the KKs on a year ago and returned the KJ ones kopkrab.gif

Think it was him? If so I don't wanna buy clevis that wont do anything for me.. the run ons are killing me lol hard to understand what you are saying.

If you have the OME HD coils all you need is the daystar upper plate and the .75in spacer from rustys. Its pretty simple and Im not sure why they said that at All J's. Ive called them and asked them the same thing and it wasnt an issue.

Maybe its because they use a custom spacer with the bumper built in? You would need to make a bump stop to keep the upper A-arm from hitting the spring. That or get some JBA upper a arms.
