Just saw an add in Popular Science (last page of the Sept. issue) that showed an X10 type product that you can activate with the Jeep Home Link instead of carrying around that remote.

You can train your Home Link to use these X10 type modules to turn on lights and such.

Here's the link:

My mom needs one of these, bad. It would save on the electric bill so we wouldn't have to run the outside lights all day and night.

Thing is about those bulbs... we have them too all over the house and the bill dropped... like a rock, they're not that bright in cold weather.

ATTN: People who haven't jumped on the bandwagon, those bulbs rock! Mom was skeptical at first, but she gave it a try... then the bill came and her jaw dropped, LOL! ONE MONTH paid for the price of the bulbs!

We have some bulbs that we got along time ago and then some we got a few weeks ago. The older bulbs(one year maybe?) seem to take alittle longer to warm up(30sec or so for full brightness) but the newer ones seem to be bright as soon as you turn them on. Idk if they have changed something about them or what but I like the new ones alot better.

The ones outside do take longer to warm-up when its really cold. You cant turn them on then walk right out the door. Its best to turn them on around a min early so they will be good and bright. Dad walks down our driveway that is parallel to the house and parks out of the driveway. His truck is always covered in coal dust and mud and we dont want it on the drivway. Anyway, he leaves when its dark and turns the outside lights on before he puts his clothes on which he does last.
