okay I know this is probably a stupid question and I am overlooking something but this is just one area of automotive mechanics that I haven't messed to much with. So please forgive my ignorance. I am finally getting around to changing my bent rear axle shaft ant I can't get to the bolt that locks the center pin in (the bolt is facing backwards) How do I turn the entire assembly to get to the bolt ?

Any help will be appreciated!!

You’re going to have to put the car in neutral so you can rotate the whole axle assembly. You can’t do this in park because it will only more the side gears and not the whole assembly. Rotate the assembly until you can get to the bolt and the pin should fall right out.
