been driving on it for three days now. Heres a beginning disclaimer that probably doesn't need to be stated, but I will for the sake of my argument.
The Jeep Liberty is not a hot rod, and the 3.7L is not an LS1.
That being said, it took close to a full second off my 0-60 time, a punch from 30-50 will grab you by the seat of your pants, from a dig it has more over all power, and my E-fan now cuts on at 180º F.
It has noticeably more power through the low end, but most importantly, it greatly improves the passing gear. If you're running bigger tires on a KK, this lets you have cruise control back! :badger_1:
Shifts firmer, and more smoothly, idles nicer, and ironically it actually SOUNDS like it runs smoother.
I have a k&n 63 series CAI mated with it, while the hypertech just reads whats coming from the MAF, i will say the engine sounds much throatier than it did. (before the tune, you could already hear the intake.)
I haven't tried a Jet chip yet, I would personally steer clear of the module, it plugs into the ecu and the computer could just relearn all the settings anyway. Get a flash tuner or programmer.
One downside I have, is the inability to change shift points. I tuned my dad's 08 silverado 4.8, and adjusted each gear individually, and it was an incredible difference. that truck pulls like a bat out of hell in every gear. AND it has 6 inches of lift, 33's, and a 3.31 rear end. In the jeep, from 1 > 2 gear and from 2 > 3 could really use a shift point adjustment.
Overall, I give Hypertech an 8 out of 10. I ordered from amazon for 315 shipped over night to my door. If necessary, I'll write a full install and review, with pictures and video to match, and we could sticky it. It's basically a no brainer install though. Took all of 10 minutes, and I was out enjoying it.
TL;DR - Bought hypertech programmer, love it.
Pros: Regular octane tune claims 24hp/24tq. real world claim, you can feel the power. Runs smoother, more efficient, better shifting, lower fan temperature threshold.
Cons: Can't change shift points.
Overall: Worth the money.
