Hi, on my 2004 Jeep Liberty (automatic, 4x4, 3.7L, 101k miles, sport model) I have tried now 4 used PCMs from various junk yards from the same model and year Liberty as mine. Every single one makes my airbag light come on right away. When I put the old one back in it stays off.

Someone told me that the PCM is attached to the AIRBAG module per the VIN number. So I switched the airbag module over with the PCM from another 2004 Liberty and the airbag light still popped right on.

Is there anyway to put a used PCM in from another Liberty without the airbag light staying on?

Thanks

Hey everyone, I resolved the problem. You can use a used PCM of the same year and trim Liberty.

-You must also swap the airbag module from the same Liberty you stole the PCM from. (underneath the center council, quite easy)

-And last, the part I was missing, the passenger seat weight sensor. 1 plug and 2 bolts underneath passenger seat and vioala.

Perfectly running Liberty and the Airbag light went right out.

(You do not need the BCM or anything else for this.)
