I just installed them this morning, and what a pain in the **s to get them tightened down. They don't rub the bumper cover at all and has plenty of room for a strap or chain to go between the top of the hook and cover.
Just a tight fit for my hand and the hook and getting the nuts started on the threads, while on my back in a cold cement garage floor.
Just a little blood loss....some cursing and swearing and poof.....they are in place. (Argh)(banghead)
I don't understan why the M bolts are towards the wheels, not towards the center of the bumper. That would have made the install much easier

I did the same thing except during the summer, without taking the bumper off, and I shed blood and cursed too. it's a Jeep thing.

As far as the direction of the M bolts, I don't know as I am not an engineeer.............I can't even spell engenneeer......:D

But now you are hooked........

Don't forget skids. The Mopar skids are easier to put on than the front hooks. Except with the gas tank skid, you need another pair of hands to help hold it in place when you start the bolts. Mine has the OEM receiver hitch. I had to hold the skid and hitch in place and then thread the bolts. I bribed my Son to hold up the other end. Then it's easy. Otherwise I would have been fumbling with a floor jack trying to jockey the skid and hitch in place.

I got these smaller type skids on the t-case and front diff. A friend has an 02 sport, and hers has the full size skids. But for all the obstacles I would encounter thoe skids I have will do me fine.
I would rather get one of those Rocklizard sport racks.:D

I started to install my hooks, but noticed the top of the hook would hit my bumper cover and there wouldn't be any room for a strap. Is this a normal problem?

I see you state that yours don't touch.

They are OEM. But maybe I was just looking at them wrong or something. Right now it's raining (strange weather for this time of year) so I'll have to take another look at them next weekend when I can take them to a friends garage.
