I always thought liberty's 3.7 V6 had an electro fan only, but my friend bought one today and ih has a fan that is driven by the engine...
What's the deal with that? Why do they need to make the same engine with different fan types?

The Gasser KJ's come with the electric fan as standard,a gasser KJ with the tow package and/or the heavy duty cooling you get the electric fan and a mechanical driven fan for extra cooling at low speeds. The HD cooling has both fans, the electric is in front of the mechanical fan.

I have the 42RLE and the stock trans cooler. I live in a climate that rarely drops below freezing, so I like the idea of a fan always going. Of course on the other hand it rarely hits above 80 either.

How much power does it take from the engine do you think? I heard about 10-20hp. By the way the engine driven fan doesn't let you change the oil filter from under the hood, you'll have to squeeze under the bumper which wont happen until you have an elevator...
My friend also got a fully black leather interior which looks just great.

Oh crap, I was gonna hit up the junkyard for that and some hooks today

Have you found KJs in the junkyard before? I searched a couple here in Northeast PA last summer to find some skid plates and there where no KJs at all.

I did find an old Army Jeep though :D to bad I didn't have a trailer.

Ive never seen a liberty in a junk yard either. Ive never really seen alot of Jeeps in general in a junk yard.

I cant get to my oil filter from the top as it is. I have the bigger shroud that the 04's came with.

About the junkyard...i just found a guy, who buys libertys and then diassembles them. And not the old ones, the last he bought was 2005 CRD Limited Edition... If i can find it here in Russia, where Liberty isn't so popular, sure you can find such guy ;)
