I just purchased my used 2004 Liberty with only 16,400 kms on it. However the dealer says the only warranty left is the 3 years/60,000 km on the Powertrain. Extended warranty was offered but I'm wondering

a) should I buy the additional 2 year warranty to top my existing policy to extend up to 5 years/100,000 kms?

b) What's the chance of the steering components, A/C conditioning, engine cooling, front/rear suspension, electrical, anti-lock brakes going wrong after 60,000kms?

I didn't have much problems on my last import vehicle but going domestic kinda makes me think twice here. I don't drive my vehicle like Mario Andretti but not sure how Jeeps can last.

Warranties opened a can of worms last time that it came up. Opinions were:
1) Warranties are a waste of money.
2) Warranties are worth it should you need them.

One good opinion I heard, take the money that you are going to spend on the warranty and put it in a savings account for a rainy day.

Now my KJ is only at 6k miles!
