As I said I am lazy but not really, fact is I have read so dang much on different lift kits it is a mess in my head (wife says that is normal condition, reading or not). And I am not really cheap but rather on a tight income.....

So my question is this, what do you recommend for a lift kit to go 4x4 offload (not rock crawl, or 10' mud hole driving), that is not going to take my medication money forever to pay for?

I got an 04 Libby, 3.7L. want to install about same time, lockers and skid plates....

thanks

Jim

Not that much to read on lift kits
You have
OME
Ironman
JBA adjustable coilover
tommudd Econo kit
all above from jeepinbyal
then from boulderbars.com
you have the Frankenlift

All depends on budget and how high you want to go, 750-4000
So first how much lift do you want from 2.5 to 4 inches
next what size tires do you want to run from stock size to 265-75-16s , regearing after you get to 30 inch tall on up
If you can't find it in all of the posts here and on LOSTJEEPs then we'll walk you through

We don't do spacer style lifts, Rustys Off Road, Skyjacker, RRO

Thanks for the replies....

I would like to go around a grand in cost, as fr how high I would like the largest tires I can easily fit...I read on place that max is 31" for not having to change gearing and such, if so then that would be good, and lift height for that tire.

For example for 31" tires, would I need a 2 " lift? More?

Will the kit come complete, as in do not need to buy other things that the lift will require to be changed.

LOL Am I making sense?

Thanks for the help!!

Around $1000 will get you into a decent lift kit.

Specifically, the Iron Man or OME lifts. Both are supposed to be fairly decent and meet your budget.

For a wee bit more you could get the Tommudd Econo Lift, which goes up 3.5" and comes with a lot of good kit.

I'm personally torn between a Tommudd kit and the JBA 4" kit, but I'm probably 9 months to a year from pulling the trigger.

245-75-16 is it until regear, even then many have went to 4.10s with that size and love the extra power. IMO if you lift/ regear

I recoomend the tommudd Econo kit from Jeepinbyal.com personaly. It's the one I ran on my Liberty and I loved it. You will be amazed at just how much better the suspension will feel and how well it rides when you change over.. I ran the Econo lift with 245/75R16 tires. I like the stance it gave. It was a tad lower up front but nothing that was a problem. You will notice some loss in power. I wish I would have geared to 4.10's when I had it. Some people will argue they feel no power different though, somehow.

Not the mountains.
I wouldn't trade my current setup for the stock setup for anything. Everyone that rides in it is amazed and says it should have been this way from the factory. The re-gear was a godsend once I went to 245/75/16. There was definitely a loss in power compared to the stock tires. Now she happily climbs the steep hill and passes the 4cyl Wrangler with oversized tires and stock gears.:icon_lol:
