i checked out wyckoff chrysler and wasnt able to get better prices.
I called Jparts and he said that he could give me a little bit of a discount. ( since i need to finish the exhaust project first i opted to wait)
Just wasnt sure if there was some other site or person to call that could get em cheaper. ( doing homework before leaping)

also, is there a hardware kit i need to install these? or do they come with the hardware?

IIRC that price is around what I paid for the OEM skids. The gas tank skid was the most expensive and the other 3 were around $48 each. They came with the mounting bolts/nutzerts. They should be included but you could double check with them on that.

They should come with the hardware( nutzerts, bolts) needed to install. I bought mine from the dealer and they came with all the hardware.

A local dealer will probably match the interent prices ( mine did ) and then you have no shipping costs. Make sure that they order the plates with their "kit" numbers. Apparently, you can order just replacement skids, like for accident damage, that do not come with the hardware ( or so the parts dude said??)

This is true.

I ordered them through my local jeep dealer. They came in the next day on the parts truck and I went over and got them. No shipping charges as the parts truck came in to the dealer every day with repair/replacement parts. Pretty sure they were the same price as on line as I did check at the time. Got my front hooks the same way. All the proper installation hardware was included.

Most dealers I've encountered will price-match if you bring in a copy of the page where you found it online.

$275 seems pretty cheap to me for a complete set. How much more of a discount do you want? Aftermarket skids could cost upwards of $300 for just one piece. I think these will be my next upgrade. Just have to get a new job first. If I get the one I'm working on now I'm going to reward myself with skids and a new phone.

Anyone know off the top of your head the total weight of the skid package? I'm too lazy to look it up.

X2..............

When I was still IFS all 4 skids ran me almost $1000 for high end aftermarket skids, and that was with a few killer deals like the Kilby gas tank skid for $200 shipped(brand new right from Kilby, not a scratch and dent either).Worth every penny also, save my front diff,******,t-case,and gas tank more times then I could ever count. The OEM skids are pretty much a one hit use and after that they are pretty much done.

Hate to bring an old thread up. But I'm in the market for OEM skid plates. Looking at various websites, I see some are 05-06+. Will these still work for my 2004? Not sure if there are any differences in the mounting or clearance.

The only problem I have heard about fitting '05+ skid plates to an '04 is that you need to re-drill some of the mounting holes in order to get them to fit.
