Picked up this reprint at the dealer yesterday. It compares the Escape Hybrid and the KJ CRD, and I think positions them both fairly.

BTW the weather's getting warmer in N. Colorado, and the KJ CRD really prefers it that way.

• Keep your vehicle tuned and replace the 02 sensor and air filter regularly.
• Keep the tires properly inflated and all wheels aligned.
• Don't use your vehicle as a storage shed.
• Avoid excessive idling and hammering the accelerator pedal.

I'd buy a diesel over a hybrid anyday. Hybrids are new and who knows what repair costs they'll have? Better to let it shake out.
