LIFT UPDATE(s)
First lift (V-1) installed around 20,000 miles was the typical OME 927/948 with Rancho RSX 17505 and RSX 17004s ( plus some added goodies) removed at 120,000 and sold to another KJ owner her in the area
V-2 was OME 790s mixed with Rancho RSX 17505s and Frankenlift gasser parts in front , 948s / 2 extra upper iso's etc and Monroe Sensa Trac Load leveler shocks in the rear
Also ran a (new to the US at the time) Ironman set up ( with added goodies of course) for a while
Next swapped out the OME 948s for a set of JBA 4 inch coils , much better ride overall, didn't need the extra upper iso's any longer
Yesterday swapped out the front's for JBAs 4 inch Coil Over set up
I loved the way the 790s rode with the added weight I have on the KJ , but
this new setup is night and day different, smoother, takes the bumps like its going over a flat sheet of glass, very smooth..............
Now to get this piece of metal out of my eye I somehow got installing them and we'll be good to go

Ride with V-1 was 50 times better than the stock suspension, handled and rode way better even with only 20,000 miles on the stock junk
V-2 since I had added ARB up front and other heavy parts went into the unknown and tried the 790/Franky parts lift, ride was stiffer, but overall very good I liked the way it rode and handled on and off road
Ironman felt much like the OME setups I've installed, great ride , better ride/handling than stock
Can't wait to get a few miles on the JBA coil overs but first ride impressions are great

So far so good Bob
Just want to get out and drive it on some back roads
Problem is all the back roads up around here are all paved !
Guess a trip back down home is in order:rotflmao:
Now as far as the red goes, I think I have enough now :icon_mrgreen:

No need for front bumpstops with the new setup?

Pulled them out to have more room to adjust them.
The "rings/collars" are right behind the bumpstops so instead of working around them just popped them out for a few days.

So do the JBA springs come in different spring rates like OME/Ironman? In other words, to support your ARB bumper you used the 790's while I run the 927's cuz I don't have a heavy bumper.

I know the JBA coilovers are adjustable but can you choose a 400lb spring vs a 350lb spring - and then adjust the height up or down from there?

what height you looking at now, you got them maxed to the adjustment stop? did you have any spring contact at all with the 790's at full drop?

Spring rate is the same no matter what they are a progessive rate spring so take the weight different than others.
You just adjust them to where you want to be
So same setup for 2.5 inch lift up to 4 inch or so

I had contact with the 790s, well for that matter when I was running the 927s. My way of sitting my suspension up was to take it up until it was too high/ hitting spring-UCAs all the time then adjust back down from there. not the best way but hey it was all for fun!!
I'm still running at 4.25 inches of lift same as I have been for a long time. Several reasons for that height for me, works and looks good with where i have the back sit, my 81 year old Mother can't climb up too much higher, and my garage door is only so high!:icon_surprised:

More importantly....where are old 790's?...
For Sale on LOSTJEEPs
All set up same as I had them ready to install
OME 790 coils, brand new when installed
Rancho RSX17505 shocks, brand new were some of the last ones available
Frankenlift Gasser parts , parts were about a week old when I got them. Guy here in Ohio bought a Franky, didn't like it, tore it down kept the springs and I got the parts )
(and yes they were muddified just a slight amount for more drop)
