hello guys.

the time has come for some 265/75s. i always change the spare as well- as i did today. i already converted my 2006 to a US spec spare tire carrier (euro version will only hold a factory size tire cause if the way it is built) - but the 265 rubs on the bumper (euro bumper- it is not exactly the same- no plate etc). rear window hits it when closing- etc.

It is not something i did not expect. big tire- small space. however- i already did everything one should do- i flipped the tire carrier (did not exactly make a huge difference). i already spaced the tire carrier from the door using some washers on the studs. still....cant close the door- not to mention the rear window. I carry my spare tire on a factory wheel that i got from a 2003 liberty at a breakers yard.

Yet- i see quite a few kj's rolling 32s on these pages - spare wheel and all.

any ideas? any specific products on ebay?

Longer bolts to hold the carrier on and some small spacers to space it out some, 265-75-16s on Moabs worked well for me while waiting on RL rear bumper to arrive

thanx man- i am celebrating 2 years of facebook sobriety...lol. i left all the "where can i fit angry eyes to my jeep" groups and i just go into one or 2 overlanding groups.

I did not know you could replace the studs. never thought about it. how silly of me- its just four studs that i can get at the home depot. great idea. thanx

p"s- edit-

any thoughts about the added "length" of the wheel? (sorry...my english)- i mean the fact that the wheel will be hanging out 1-2 inches further than the factory intended. that might put further stress on the rear door, it's hinges etc.
