Installed new front shocks ( complete assembly) and rears KYB's all the way around major improvement.
2012 liberty jet series. 22,000 miles on it.
Now it rides like a jeep instead on a Cadillac

No lift - this is a everyday driver - plus I don't do extreme off roading, plus I drive 35,000 to 40,000 miles a year.

Ok oh. Yea I do all of that too and enjoy the look of lift. Makes the jeep stand out. Doesn’t affect drive ability at all

wish you had stayed in your original thread after the shock/strut BS. We could have helped

Many of us drive lifted vehicles as DD and no issues
My 04 was lifted 5 months after buying it brand new
and driven over 215,000 " lifted , most over 4 inches , over the years averaging 21-22 MPG on the highway easy

Glad you got the suspension replaced with what makes you happy. I cheaped out and used Gabriel all around mine. About 1k on them now and the ride is satisfactory, although styrofoam blocks shoved into the springs would have rode better than what I was riding on. Lol 215 bucks for the Gabriel set up, that will hold me over until I can afford the highly suggested and recommend OME lift.

I'm doing the KYB upgrade on my 2012 Liberty Arctic on Monday. Going with the GR2-Excel-G all around. The Jeep has 133k on the clock, so it's time for a "upgrade".

Can you please define your statement that it rides like a Jeep instead of a Caddy? My Jeep with it's original suspension doesn't ride like a Caddy, so I'm wondering what I'm going to get after the "upgrade". Not looking for a plush ride but also not looking to having my fillings knocked out of my teeth with the new ride.

Maybe he’ll chime back but I’ve had plenty of experience with KYB. They are used a lot on Nissan products. I’d imagine the ride being pretty close to how a Nissan Frontier rides. Stiff but not jarring.

To get a good ride on these Libertys you have to replace springs and shocks with aftermarket upgraded suspension like OME
Stock OEM and other stock type suspension systems just plain suck canal water.
You'll only feel a difference for a short time
By 60,000 miles both springs and shocks are toast ( meaning they are worn out, period

springs as well and thses are no Nissans, they are Jeeps way different in many ways

The front shocks were shot gas all leaked out cause of lack of use. The jeep actually floated

Been a few months now since I upgraded my worn out suspension... The Liberty rides better around town but where I notice the real difference is at highway speed. She handles better and is "tighter" when taking turns. Hopefully this is the last work I do on it for a while as the bank account needs to recover.

If only you could ride in a well setup aftermarket suspension system, you wouldn't beleive how they can actually ride out on the road

When people say "Rear Struts" are they talking about the Shock Absorbers? I only as because I have an 07 that needs them replaced soon and when I look at the Schematics it only shows the Shock Absorbers and a spring.

Yes, I think that’s what they mean. And yes, there aren’t many parts back there. Kinda nice.

Rear struts is sometimes used for the lifts on the rear glass
Rear has springs and shocks, yes you are correct

Only struts on these are on the rear glass and hood or what some call them
