Hi all I have been on the XK site since I bought my 06 Commander, but never had a need to get on the KJ site until now. The wife's 08 KJ limited 2wd needs to have new front brakes pads replaced and the rotors turned. Before I proceed, I need to know if the frame bolts holding the caliphers are both standard threads or is one side reversed? Not the bolts that hold the caliphers. If so which side? I tried to remove the right side frame once before, but it seemed pretty thight. Any help is appreciated. I tought that 08 was a KK so i guess I am on the wrong froum. Sorry.

1st better off buying new rotors.

The caliper mount bolts(to the knuckle) are right hand threads on both sides, righty tighty, lefty loosey. They may have thread lock on them making them a pain to remove for the 1st time.

First time changing my rotors and pads I needed a breaker bar and a whole lot of muscle.

x2 on buying new rotors. By the time you pay for the turning (and pray they were done correctly), new rotors are a no brainer

I have a friend. Who tows his KJ When he puts on new rotors they warp. If he has the rotors turned they wilmot warp again and last till they wear to minmim thickness.

You can not "un-warp" a "warped" rotor, which is actually excessive lateral runout,by turning the rotor.Once heated up they will return to the "warped" state again but faster since less material is now there to disapate heat. The only way to "un-warp" a rotor is to melt it down and re-cast it and machine it.

That would be user error(incorrect bedding) or buying cheap rotors with improper surface or was stored wrong and was not true to begine with.

I've had the rotors turned on our KJ once. It worked fine.
Finally had the rotors replaced on our second brake job and the dealership used OEM rotors.
Coming soon will be its third brake job and I'm going to just buy new high quality aftermarket units this time. No more turning rotors for me, new is best.
