Hello All,

I just bought a 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited 135K miles on it. I was hesitant at first due to some not savory reviews about the motor. However, I really like the car so I went ahead and bought it. So far so good. The only thing I have noticed is that I feel a slight vibration only when I am going between 45MPH to 55MPH. Other than that it seems like a great car. Any advice or tips for me? Anything I need to keep my eye on?

Thanks in advance for replies!

Welcome! First tip. It's not a car ;) it's a jeep! Other than keeping up the maintenance the only thing I would say is make sure it never overheats ever. This engine hates that. Sorry to hear about the vibes they are a pain to chase. Possibly check the rear cv on the front driveshaft first. If you do a search here there is a whole thread on that.

Nothing wrong with the 3.7 if you take care of it
Vibes
as mentioned
front driveshaft rear CV
then intermediate shaft ( on right side front diff
make sure same size tires all around and balanced
check rear ujoints, may feel tight to touch but could be frozen up

Thanks for all the advice and I am from the southern part of Ohio. This morning on my drive to work I noticed a clunking sound when I turned left. Does this indicate something specific?

So just in case anyone was curious, after taking it to my mechanic turns out my rear tire was loose. Replaced that rim, also it turns out I had a dent in my driveshaft replaced that as well. Drives great!
