I have a 03 Limited that my 95 yr old neighbor wanted to get rid of (his daily driver is a Mazda MX5). He bought the jeep for winter driving second hand for winters. It has sit for the last 3 yrs and the only thing I had to do was replace the battery and clean the beads on the wheels to prevent slow leaks, it has 62K on a 3.7 and is a real cream puff!! I would like to replace the stock wheels with some aftermarket wheels but first would like to at least level it. I do not want to go with the big noisy tires and I don't want to ruin a already firm ride. Off-roading to me is pulling into a field to gain access to a tractor or semi. I was watching a youtube video on the subject and the guy said the KK front strut with the KK clevis is 1" longer, if this is true that would give close to 2" at the wheel right? I also have read that they are identical length? I found a ome 1 1/2 lift that a guy was selling with the rear springs and shocks and the strut minus the coil. I spoke to him and he said that you use your stock coils on it and will give the 1.5" lift. The price is reasonable he wants more lift is the reason for selling. I questioned the fact the kit he has is for the CRD and he said the only diff is that his jeep uses a heavier spring for the weight of the motor, I would just use my stock springs. Thanks for this forum and allowing me to gain some info.
