Hi guys new user from UK here (been lurking for a while) registered for some info/advice.
I own a 2004, 2.5 CRD which i have owned from new. It has covered about 37000 miles and has been serviced on time by main dealer for 3 years then independent jeep specialist since and it has been very reliable.
Recently i have started noticing a few small damp patched under where i park the Jeep at home an work, the patches only seem to appear if the jeep is parked for a long period so leak cant be too bad.
Last week my coolant level warning light started coming on so i assumed the leak must be coolant so i started having a prod about under the bonnet/hood and noticed that there was water around the area where the top radiator hose connects at the engine side (not to the radiator). The water looked to be coming out from where the pipe attatches to the metal part and leaking down, so i thought the hose clip might be loose so i replaced it with a jubilee clip and went for a short drive.
When i returned home the area was still damp and the water seems to be coming out from what ever it is that the radiator hose connects to, i thoiught that it was the thermosat housing but after some research i think the thermostat housing is at the end of the bottom hose, is this correct? If so what does the top hose connect to? I know the waterpump is there but i was hoping that it was something else (cheaper) and easy to replace.
I know this mis a long first post but any advice will be greatly recieved, i will post pictures if it helps.
Cheers,
Nick.
