Hello to all.

My name is TOMER - or TH - and i live in Israel. today i got me a liberty. its a 2006 model year for the wife. 3.7 V6 automatic. although i'm gonna wheel it on weekends.

I'm no stranger to offroading - i have owned a few decent rides and some bad ones- my last being somewhat unorthodox...it was an old kia sportage that has a 4 inch lift and 2 diff locks.

Anyways

- here's the thing: i'm gonna visit Cali in 2 months time and i'm probably going to go back home with lots of stuff - a lift, diff lock etc.

here are my questions:
1. rocky road seem to make a decent 3 inch lift. but the reviews...OMG...are they KOSHER? (a bit of israeli humor there).

2. I'm not gonna hit any trails without AT LEAST a rear diff lock. However - my liberty has ESP. I dont like the ARB stuff- i use automatic diff lockers (lunchbox)- lockright, aussie, that stuff. But this is where i get confused...some people say that u need a detroit locker cause all liberty models come with a limited slip diff. BUT some say that its OK to use others on all models with ESP cause ESP means no limited slip diff.

I checked out the equipment listing for my rig om the jeep website- doesnt mention a limited slip diff - (think its called trac loc). so can i buy a lockright or an ausie locker and be done with it?

thanx!!!

05 was the last year to get LSD. After that they started using traction control instead of LSD. so you are correct.

Pretty awesome you had a sportage. I had a 2000 myself that I was planning to lift until someone totaled it and that led to me buying my KJ.

Congrats on your purchase.

Oh ya stay away from rocky road. Just find yourself a OME lift kit. Check out jeepinbyal.com.

I can tell you the KJ's all had the 8.25 rear end so anything built for those should work. But I have no experience with lockers on them so maybe wait for one of the more experienced guys to chime in on that

First Aussie lockers of the 8.25 were junk, many had serious issues with them. Supposedly they have fixed the issue but I would still go with a detroit locker. Second either deal with ALLJs or jeepinbyal for a full OME lift

In my experience the ESP provides pretty good replacement of diff locks and in some cases it is even better. So you might want to test it before getting a locker.

As for the lift avoid Ironman. That's again my own personal experience.
