Hi-I’m a newbie 2007 Jeep Libby Limited owner and I’m having a hard time finding the right spark plugs and possibly injection coils(will the new ones fit in the old set and new) on eBay,amongst a lot of other parts. Anyway-can someone help me out here?
TIA

Use NGK ZFR6F-11G spark plugs
I used the STANDARD brand of coil packs which fit perfectly.

@LibertyTC
Thank you so very much for responding and your help. I greatly appreciate it! I actually wanted to pm you but I’m new to this site and haven’t figured it out yet. Tbh I’m not sure that I even want to even keep the Libby. Might sell it. Would here be a good choice amongst other sites as well. I’m in Mn. Anyway-again I thank you for helping me.

I suggest using rockauto.com … their user interface for parts is accurate and easy to use and usually offers many options and price points for most all parts that you might need to fit and fix your KJ.

@seafish Hi-thank you. My son and I have used rockauto many times(parts for turbo charging his cobalt) I just looked on eBay and found some NGK for cheap but I’m kinda leary on whether or not they’re legit. I feel some may be but some not. Thank you again for your help.

You are correct to be wary … counterfeit parts are definitely becoming more and more of a problem with both eBay and Amazon … that is one of the main reasons I suggested buying through Rockauto … all of their participating wholesalers are legitimate parts distributors.

Everything in the jobber parts market is a copy of OEM. Why 'counterfeit' is a such a concern for many, I don't know.

I buy some of the cheapest parts. It's rare that I get a disappointing lifespan.

What you are describing as "jobber aftermarket" parts is VERY different then what I am describing as "counterfeit" parts.

Aftermarket parts are designed by wholesale or brand manufacturing companies. While these companies have an interest in obtaining greater market share by making and selling cheaper parts, they still sell more or less reliable parts with more or less accurate fitment so that they can keep return customers who continue to know and buy their brand parts for less.

Usually aftermarket parts are less expensive then OEM because they dont come with the OEM warranty, or with the same quality control, and they ALSO use cheaper resins or metals or wire or whatever, as well as cheaper hired workers… all of which result in a part that likely wont last as long as OEM but still works until it finally breaks or otherwise fails.

Counterfeit parts, on the other hand, are made by disreputable people and companies in order to trick any consumer into thinking they are buying a genuine OEM part for a great deal. What many consumers dont necessarily understand is that if a price seems too good to be true for a genuine brand part, it is highly likely that the part IS an actual counterfeit with the exception being single "wholesale closeout" deals like those that rockauto sometimes offer.

MUCH more importantly, counterfeit parts that are made with inferior materials, or do not work to factory specifications, can eventually result in damage to even more expensive parts …like your engine!!!

There are more then several threads about just this subject on many of the diesel truck forums that I also frequent regarding air, oil and fuel filters that are being sold as genuine Cummins or Fleetguard on Amazon and eBay, and even by some resale distributors who cant tell the difference, and want to make ever more markup.

These fake and counterfeit parts are definitely resulting in no start situations and even some engine damage. NOT for me, thank you.

As always, it is Your Jeep, Your money and YOUR choice, so of course feel free to buy your cheap parts from whomever you want!!!

Just my .02

Imho, nothing has changed. "Counterfeit" is just trendy to say now. I lost faith in the aftermarket parts world some 30 years ago. There's 40 brands marketing maybe 5 mfr's parts (or similar horrible ratio). Pricing is all over the place. Warranty often means paying more for the same low quality part - just paying in advance for the 2nd one.

I tend to roll-the-dice on some of the cheapest parts available, because it very rarely causes problems. The money I save is significant. This is my own long-term vehicles and my own garage.

YMMV.

You might be overthinking things. I ran Autolite double platinum plugs in my 2006 Liberty for a few years and never had one issue. Switched back to NGK coppers last year and didn't see any change. Some people here have had different results and don't buy spark plugs online

Hi @Jeremy-WI I purchased this jeep bcz I wanted another suv,we live in Minnesota, enough said about that lol. In all honesty, for the purpose of what we need a SUV for,I’m really not liking the Libby. I truly just want to sell it. The previous owner did not take care of the thing much. Stuff here and there but not like I take care of my vehicles. Plus the gas mileage or lack there of and it being used for other things than I need it for. Regardless it does need up keep and I do not have the money to keep dumping into this thing. I’m disabled(3 back surgeries) and can not work anymore, thus less funds to put into it,enough said about that too. Anyway-I’ll just go ahead and get the spark plugs @LibertyTC said. Right? Thank you for helping/responding.

Actually there are a few things that are not. The a/c compressor clutch is not spinning correctly so I bought a clutch. Hopefully the compressor is ok and the clutch fixes the issue. I replaced the radiator as well, it was cracked. The a/c lines and condenser were freezing up too. ‍♀️ I really just want to sell it due to a lot of reasons. I did state some down in a reply to @Jeremy-WI.

You may want to check the practicality and cost of swapping that AC clutch. I ended up buying the whole compressor - it was cheaper than the clutch alone.
