No heat

So I've been battling a no heat issue thinking it maybe a clogged heater core. I've done a dozen or so flushes and still not heating correctly. I get decent heat when inside my heated garage around 110 deg at idle coming out vents, but as soon as I pull it outside in 10 deg temps it goes cold, even when driving down the road at higher rpm's. I have replaced radiator and thermostat and I'm thinking maybe heater core or blend doors. What are your opinions? Seems strange how temp changes when I bring the vehicle outside in the cold, makes me think blend door. Both hose going to core are hot with the exception that one is alittle hotter.

Be willing to bet the core is still partially plugged. Been seeing a lot of that lately.

What about the fact that the heat I have when parked inside my garage diminishes when I pull it outside in the cold? I have noticed that when I stop after a short drive, coolant seems to come out the holes from left side of the coolant tank, not the overflow but the side of the tank that doesn't hold fluid.

The left side of the tank is a recovery compartment, to keep it from being dumped on the ground, and able to be recovered later. That itself wouldn't have anything to do with no heat. With your engine fully warmed up, is the temp gauge reading right in the middle where it normally runs? If yes, then turn your heat on, full heat, high speed on the fan. Let it run for a couple of minutes, then check the temps of the inlet and outlet of the heater core. If you have a thermometer, that would be ideal. Are you seeing a 40-50* difference? If so, time for a dash pull.

Heater core replaced and it fixed my no heat issue!! Wow... Burns your hands off now... :head3:
