ok, i have been reading a little on lifts on here. for the most part i am confused on what i actually need/want. i did find this, the RockFather 2 http://www.rocky-road.com/kjrockfather.html seems to be about the limit of my budget. is this decent? i want to run 31-10.5-15 tires on cragar 8's for budget reasons. would i need to add anything else to the kit to start hittin the rocks?
if anyone has this lift can you give me some opinions on it please?

also, i have been searching for wheel sizes and gathered there is a mixed opinion on whats BS for a 15x8. 4" or 4.5" the cragars are 4" right? does that half inch make a huge difference?

For that price I would probably stick with the ome/rancho setup. You will also need longer front and rear bump stops.
I have no experience with the lift you linked but I like my ome/rancho setup (927/948). With weight in the jeep it rides better than my wifes saturn ion, when empty the springs are a little stiff. I do not have skids but plan on skids and rock rails when money permits.

RRO front springs will sag quite a bit over time, save your money, go with the OME/Rancho or OME/OME springs/shocks, ...do it right the first time so you don;t have to redo it over again.

How do you figure? They use OME springs of your choosing (926, 927, etc.)

I did a DIY lift using OME springs (926,948) and Rancho RSX shocks (17004, 17505), plus bought two TerraFlex front bumpstops, and 4 hockey pucks and some bolts. I'm pretty sure I came in under $800 AFTER shipping, which is what you pay for the RRO stage II lift, and you still need to supply bumpstops. Not to mention, the shipping will be almost $100 on top of the list price.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the RRO lift per se, but an equivalent lift can be had for less money, and you will likely get better shocks than what comes with the RRO lift.

I know the RSX shocks are becoming hard to find, however several members are using Bilstein's, which I've always heard are good.

Keep doing your research and asking questions, and you'll find the solution that fits your budget, and is something you feel comfortable with. I know I did A LOT of research and asked plenty of questions. Good luck!

Correction to some of the above
RRO uses OME front springs and shocks
thats where the OME ends, they use their own rear springs and shocks which , well I would not go that way.
They advertise a true 3 inch lift, big deal you can easily get that out of just using the OMEs and a clevis or do a 3/8 top plate and go that route.
Plus if you have any problems you are on your own!
deal with JeepinByAl or AllJs

Simple
go OME ,like several have already said, for springs
I used Med. duty
Then Rancho for shocks
Keep the OE wheels ,unless 3 or more are bent or cracked
run 245/75's on them ,I ran MTR's with no rubbing under normal condt. and only slight rub at very full stuff
on a budget this can be done for under $1200 ,lift tires and install
note the tires will need to be off brand and you will need to shop

Interesting...didn't catch that the first time I looked, but yeah, they only specify OME for the front stuff. Good to know, and kind of deceiving.

Read this thread - there's loads of links to suppliers - http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37151

JeepinByAl's and XL Offroad are where I purchased my stuff from.

OME springs, and Terra Flex bumpstops from JBA; shocks from XL Offroad.

Here are the parts I bought
http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-OME_Spring_for_front_strut-616.aspx
http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-OME_Spring_for_Rear-625.aspx
http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-TeraFlex_Bump_Stop-653.aspx

http://www.xloffroad.com/rancho-rsx17004-rsx17000-shock-absorber.html

Aside from the 4 hockey pucks and bolts for my rear bumpstops, my lift came to $676.53, shipping/tax included. That's A LOT cheaper than the Rockfather II lift. Even if you bought Bilsteins, you would be at or below, and have a MUCH better shock.

forgive me for the "noobness" but does it really only lift the jeep 1.5" like the springs say or is it 2.5". sorry, still learning
thanks

Those numbers are misleading to say the least. Near as I can tell this was from the original numbers due to the 02/early 03 being taller by 3/4 of an inch.
Everyone gets around 2 to 2.25 (at least) over "new " stock height which on later models is around 19/19.5 inches. So fiqure with nothing else but spring middle of wheel to bottom of flare will be about 21.25 to 21.50. Of course I have never done a lift for anyone who just wanted what the springs would give you!:icon_twisted: Always adding some extra from the get go!
