Being the last minute person that I am, I woke up at 615am to go to the local Big Bird (Giant Eagle) to get groceries. The store was surprisingly stocked pretty well so they were prepared.

Long story short....the Jeep wanted to play in the snow today and I'm not one to hold back the Jeep from fun snow time. Jeep had no issues. None. Not one slip. Even was in 2x4 at some points and still no issues.

The huge snow drift in my apartment complex (front bumper high on the Jeep) was still no match for the Jeep. Even had to help a Dodge Ram truck get unstuck. There is no better feeling than to roll up to a full size truck in my Jeep and say "I gotta tow row, you need a little pull?":D

Im amazed you didnt need 4wd. It must be pure snow and no ice b/c I just went out and needed 4wd in 3in of snow. I also have a Locker in the rear.

I can't lie and say I was in 2x4 the entire time but there were points where the Jeep handled well enough to not need it. I have been in 4x4 since early this morning however...

We're expecting 8-10" here in the Toronto area, according to the radio it's coming from KENTUCKY AGAIN! Thanks Kentucky! lol... we're up to about 6" now but it's coming down pretty hard at the moment!

My Jeep also didn't want to stay home so we've been out a number of times, trying to stick to the unplowed side streets of course!

I'm always impressed with the way it handles the snow in 4HI, no slippage whatsoever, except for the few times I leaned into it for a bit of 4-wheel drift!!! ;)

Nice snow pic's. You guys got blasted with snow out there and all we got here is hard rain so we got floods everywhere. The farm fields down the street are a lake.

Sounds like it time for some better rubber.

I don't bother with 4wd in snow until at least 12"+,unless there is a sheet of ice underneath then I'll engage at about 8" of snow.In 2wd I'll just lock the rear ARB and go,when needed I'll lock into 4hi(disengage the ARB) and let the TT pull me where I want to go.The most snow I've gone through with my KJ is about 20"-24" on a trail(I'm way from stock),and had to follow a 3/4ton Chevy on 35" tires that wasn't leaving anything nice for me to go through,he was having on hell of a time. With some good meats and some good lockers/LSD's the KJ can go through some stuff that amaze other poeple.

Tires have less than 5k miles. Its just the fact it had solid ice under it and I was going up a hill. :)

Heck, I can take that corolla anywhere I need as long as its flat(onroad).

Front wheel drive is fun with added traction! :D
Hell, even with 165-70-10 inch Goodyear Rally Special tires I can drive the pants off of many a tricked out 4X4!

Sure you can take it anywhere until you don't see the curb hidden but the snow. Back in 2004 I saw a little ricer conducting 3AM "centrifugal force training" hit a hidden curb that oddly stopped his shenanigans. I was satisfied to see it get towed the next morning.

yep last winter I had to help drag a mini out of a parking lot, came flying in, snow built up underneath and he sat there all 4 wheels off the ground, felt sorry for him until I went over to help, what a jerk, told me he didnt need any help from some hick in a 4X4, but his wife got out talking to my wife and was nice so I helped them out. Saw him about a week later and he apololgized for being such a jerk

white stuff that falls from the sky? that is what snow is right?
it has been cool here at night down to 40* and hitting 65* during the day
going riding in the AM should be about 50* or so when I head out and about 60* when we hit the trails
This is all a good thing because I dont wheel from mid May until late August
90*+ heat and skeeters as big as most small birds
not to mention ticks getting in places I care not to talk about
see stand by me the movie ,happens every year

i think the mini is a cool little car but can't justify buying one because i need to buy a car for work and mini = zero cargo space. I don't mind driving a little car around the city in the winter if it has front wheel drive but i wonder about driving on an icy highway. but i guess if the car has good winter tires. I know i like having 4 wheel drive on some of those icy road trips.

I hear what your saying! My Mini especially... It's a vintage 1976 variety.
It has no "cargo" space at all!

I had a chance earlier this winter to wheel in some snow down an unplowed access road. What a blast!, even if it was only about six or eight inches deep. At times the snow would blow up into the engine compartment causing the fan belt to slip.

Sunday morning I had to use snowshoes just to get to my Libby.

To be truthful this isn't Ohio, its NB, Canada where its been snowing all winter long.

I've never gone wheelin with the Libby in the winter on the deep snow. I do it all the time with my YJ but it's tires are 12.5" wide and I air down to four pounds or less.
