Other Jeeps with Infinity systems...

What other Jeeps (thinking maybe WJ, XJ) used the same speakers as the KJ? Going to start calling junk yards, and want to see if anything else would work. These are the premium OE ones, made by Infinity...

I know my Dad's 00 Durango SLT+ has the Infinity speakers. Not sure they are the same as the KJ though...

XJ's use a 6.5in speaker as far as I know. KJ uses a 6.75.

XJs actually run a 5.25" speaker front and back.
well at least my 98 and 2000 did

If the foam surround is shot on them just rebuild them like i did mine. My front Infinity speakers were suffering from foam rot, popping and scratching, they sound like new now after $20 and a couple hours of effort.

I'll check again, but last time I had it out (over a year ago) the foam was intact.

Might help if I just re foamed for the heck of it...

Yeah, my front right speaker blew some of the surround off. I just took some Silicone & Rubber and put a bead where it came off. Working great so far!

I did the same thing too - using RTV. Holds real well so far.

Oh, and as for your comment, its not just a "stupid big crossover" i have dissected one now and there is actual amp in there. Run the numbers of the components through Mouser and Digi-Key and it is indeed an amp driven by the head unit.

Thats odd. Our 99 XJ has 6.5 all around.
