Hey all,

Recently my 2005 KJ has been throwing P0700 codes intermittently. When driving the car the shift from what feels like 3rd to 4th can be very hard at times. Mostly when there is a sharp incline or ive slowed down and re accelerated, after a few hits it may or may not go into limp mode.

The thing that's doing my head in is if drive the car more gently, accelerate somewhat slowly/easily you won't feel any harsh shifts, only under some load it seems.

I've had it in for a full transmission flush and filter change but still no good. Does this sound like it could be the transmission sensor pack or something else? Appreciate any ideas! Next step will to take it in to a transmission place or dealership to get the code examined further and prepare myself to be slammed cash wise - Aus Jeep dealerships love to charge insane prices

Cheers!

Need to pull the rest of the codes. P0700 is a generic code indicating the transmission has a fault and requests the engine light on. Will likely need an actual scan tool to access the codes.

Yeah ill have to find somewhere that can pull the more specific codes.

Can't be good if its a clutch pack I take it? Transmission would have to be stripped down pretty deep would it not. Guessing a couple g if that's the case, fark

Guessing that will be the case unfortunately

Does anyone have any experience having there ****** rebuilt cost wise versus dropping in a rebuilt/newey?

I have a donor transmission I'm swapping in. It came from a vehicle with far less miles, and it wasn't very expensive.
