I have had the '06 KJ for about three months. It is light khaki and I keep finding scuffs in the paint. They are light streaks as if somone walked by with a purse, brief case or cardboard box and slightly rubbed it and I am sure they will all rub out easily but it seems strange that I am seeing this so much when I have never seen it before on any other vehicle I have ever driven. I must have six or eight seperate places and other than the low volume parking lot at work and an occassional visit to the grocery store I am not often in a high risk parking lot. Is it the color, is it the paint, am I just unlucky?

I had scratches similar to what you are describing on my other truck and couldn't figure where they came from until i remembered that i brushed against bushes on a narrow trail. Put off-road stripes on it down both sides. They did rub out. I hope yours come out easy too.

As for parking lots - I park way out away from other vehicles and walk. I keep telling myself it's exercise.

Mine is scratched all to pieces too. This paint is the thinnest stuff I've ever seen. Hopefully there is enough clearcoat there to buff it out. I just haven't gotten time yet. Seems like the slightest things will scuff this paint pretty bad.

Wow --- Scratches on the back by the spare tire......now that's a little odd i would think. The only way i could see that happening is if you backed into some small bushes turning around in the woods (i've done that). The only other possibility is a 2-legged one. (wow)

I would be real EXTRA careful and park WAY away from everyone elce and keep an eye on it. Especially where it sits all day at work. (someone at work - maby?? ) I didn't want to say that but........

I'd be in jail if i caught anyone messing up my jeep. Ya know - for using excessive force and makin em eat pavement and hangin em from the nearest bush with a old rusty winch cable.

If it HAS to have scratches or even a dent i want to do it myself - off road -then it would have character. (?)

Jeep paint *****! We had a 2001 grand cherokee that if a bird pooped on it, & you didn't get it off in 3 days, there would be a pock mark in the paint.

Talked to my dealer, & he said it was an act of God, therefore not covered by the warrantee. I pointed out that if God had painted my car, bird poo would not get through; the cheap paint job was clearly the fault of Mopar. How far do you think that got me?
