Hey guys! I currently own a 2012 Jeep Liberty (Cherokee in Egypt). It has around 160,000 kilometers (100,000 miles) on the clock, and still runs like a beauty. However, the paint has started to wear off, and I wonder if this is normal after 3 years of ownership. I currently live in Egypt, and temperatures during the summer could be extreme (sometimes up to 45 degrees Celcius/113F. The car is black, and mostly parked in direct sun. Furthermore, we encounter approximately up to 10 sandstorms every year. I understand that these things play a role in wearing off the paint, but is this normal after just 3 years from when it was brand new? There are way older cars out there that have a better paint job than mine (and trust me, I'm one of the few people in this country that actually maintains their car really well), so I'm kind of confused. Is this normal? Have there ever been complaints about the paint used on these Jeeps?

To get a better idea of the severity of the worn off paint (Mostly on the hood and roof):

I live in a similar environment and it seems dark colored vehicles are always the ones with jacked up paint. My silver KJ has spent its whole life sitting in the sun and looks fine. My neighbor has a similar year black Dodge Durango and it looks like garbage.

Still seems premature for yours to look like that already though.

Wow, looks like the paint gets sandblasted good over there. You also get intense sun all the time. Don't know what to tell you?

Over here in the northeast USA we get summer sun, winter cold, plenty of snow, and plenty of road salt to rust out your jeep so you have to wash it off all the time. There's always something.

Seems like the clearcoat is worn off, making the paint faded.
