I removed my vent visors from the Liberty. However, there is still a build up of goo. I used Turtle Bug and Tar remover and it took so much elbow power my arm is now numb. However, I was suprised how there is still some areas that is gooey.

Is there any product out there that is potent enough to loosen this goo and rub it away without killing the paint? Oh, I did get a few scratches in the paint when I was scraping areas off. Can I get touch up?? The scratches are not that big, but I want to protect the area from rust, etc...

BTW: I plan on buying the insertable rain guards, no more sticky for me!!

I have seen goo gone damage some types of plastic, be careful.

I'll take your word for it, as i've never seen it, but going willy-nilly with solvents is never a good idea.

I did use it to remove the goo when I changed out an "E" on the tailgate. Worked pretty well on the decal adhesive.

WD-40 removes residual goo with little effort.

I will try that. I do have residual goo. I'm thankful it didn't make a very noticeable outline (or any outline at the least).

Thanks for all the suggestions!!

My father put an intake scoop on the TJ before he gave it to me and it came off one day and i found that those armour all orange cleaning whipes actually did a great job but required some rubbing but didn't touch the paint.

I'm done!

Yup, took all day, waiting for Goo Gone (we already had some!) to work, and the removal of the goo...

That's sure industrial strength tape. It works perfectly. I mounted the passenger side rear up a little bit too high. I'll have to fix that in the morning. I've got 3 mosquito bites from this... grr.

Glad to hear that it worked out (both the tape and the visors). They will look good on your CRD. Also, thanks!!
